Construction of a new attosecond beamline to study electron dynamics in neutral systems

This project aims to achieve the extreme temporal resolution of attoseconds thanks to the use of perfectly controlled and well characterized pump/probe pulses, independently tunable in ultra-broadband spectral ranges, in combination with the implementation of a large variety of experimental approaches to design sophisticated experiments. The novel pump/probe experimental scheme, conceived and build by M. Nisoli’s team, will result from the synchronization of the few-cycle UV/VIS pulse with the attosecond XUV/X-ray pulse. By incorporating in this set up the most advanced detection methods we will push the frontiers of attosecond technology to unforeseen limits.
